Cassie Wilson, MS, RCEP, Programming Coordinator

My academic background includes a B.S. in Exercise Science from Indiana
University in Bloomington, IN and a M.S. in Clinical Exercise Physiology
from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. While completing each
degree and after graduation I’ve had opportunities to work in hospitals,
fitness centers and research settings. It was through these experiences that
I began to understand and appreciate the variety of applications for exercise science.
From helping patients start an exercise routine after heart surgery in cardiac
rehabilitation, to researching the effects of nutritional education on bone and
skeletal health I knew I found the right career path.
Continuing my search for unique applications of exercise science I moved to Houston, TX where, for three years, I worked in the Exercise Physiology Laboratory at NASA’s Johnson Space Center. During my time in Texas I had the chance to testing and study the physiologic changes in astronauts before, during and after space flight. This was an amazing experience that only deepened my appreciation for the abilities of the human body.
In my free time I enjoy dance, yoga, cooking, hiking, backpacking and traveling. I currently live in Hamilton with my Husband, Roscoe Wilson, who also works for Miami as an Art Professor.
I am excited to be taking on the new role of programming coordinator with Employee Health and Well-Being. I have had the pleasure of working for Miami as part-time faculty on the Hamilton Campus, teaching Yoga at the Recreational Sports Center, helping the Outdoor Pursuit Center with KNH backpacking classes and dancing with Miami Dance Theatre. I have enjoyed being a part of the Miami University community and look forward to bringing that enthusiasm to this new position.
