How
do I login to the Training Registration and Information Network?
The Login
button is located in the upper-right corner of every screen. Enter your
Unique ID and Novell password into the indicated
fields. Click the "Login" button.
How
do I use the navigation bar?
The navigation
bar is located in the upper-left corner of every screen. It tracks the
previous sections you have visited. The figure below shows that you have
come from the Welcome page and are currently viewing the Learning
Opportunities page.

What
can the tables in this system do for me?
Throughout
the system a special type of table is used. It provides additional features
beyond just showing the data. You can sort by specific columns. It divides
large numbers of items into multiple pages for easier viewing. The figure
below illustrates how to use these features.

What
are announcements?
Announcements
are messages posted by the Administrative Staff.

Opportunities
How
do I register for a session?
- Login
to the TRAIN system.
- Click
on "Learning Opportunities".
- Click
on "Topics" to go to the View Topics page .
- Click
on a Topic Name to go to Topic Details page.
- Click
on a Workshop Code to go to Workshop Details page.
- Below
the workshop information will be a list of sections. Click on a Section
to view the Session Details.
- Review
the information on the Session Details page for accuracy.
- Select
a seat type, if required.
- Click
on the "Register for Session" button.
- A 'Registration
Successful' message will verify you have registered for the session.
- Click
on the word 'here' or Learning Opportunities from the
top navigation bar to go back to the Learning Opportunities page.
What
does the Session Status mean?
Pending
- a session that is eligible for enrollment but has not been confirmed
Confirmed
- a session that has received the minimum registrations required within
a predetermined time frame.
Tentative
- a session has not met the minimum required enrollment within a predetermined
time frame.
In Progress
- a session that has been held and is waiting for session outcomes to
be entered.
Completed
- a session which has been held and outcomes have been entered.
Cancelled
- a session which has been cancelled because it did not meet the minimum
enrollment required to hold the session. Or some circumstance beyond
the trainers control deemed it necessary to cancel and/or reschedule.
Note:
You may register for any session that is Pending, Tentative or
Confirmed.
What
is a workshop?
A workshop
is a training program focusing on teaching specific skills; similiar
to class.
What
is a topic?
A topic
is group of related workshops
What
is a session?
A session
is a specific instance of a workshop, similiar to a class section
What
is a career path?
A career
path is a predefined set of workshops pertaining to a specific skill
What
can the advanced search do for me?
The advanced
search can provide the capability for a general user to search specific
sessions by entering the criteria for Topic name, Workshop name, Department
name, Campus name, Status and/or Training Period. On the Search Results
screen you can sort the columns by clicking on the column heading.

How
do I find out what sessions I have registered for?
- Login
to the TRAIN system.
- Click
on "My Account".
- Click
on "Enrollment History" or "Current Enrollments".
How
do I cancel a session I have registered for?
- Login
in to the TRAIN system.
- Click
on "My Account".
- Click
"Current Enrollments".
- Select
the session you would like to cancel.
- Click
the "Cancel Enrollment" button to cancel the selected
sessions.
What
is a user profile?
The user
profile lets you view the information TRAIN has on file and may use to
contact you. The user profile allows you to indicate the name you would
like to appear on session rosters and certificates. Any other contact
information in your user profile can be updated using the Miami
University directory (PHonebook).
How can
I change my user profile?
- Login
in to the TRAIN system.
- Click
on "My Account".
- Click
on "Update Personal Contact Information".
- Enter
your nickname into the text box.
- Click
the "Save Changes" button.
What is
the message list?
The message
list contains messages sent to you by the registration system. You will
only receive messages that pertain to sessions you are enrolled in. Messages
will also be sent to your email address.
